  • Abstract
The method of characteristic modes is used for the design of vehicular antennas for near vertical incidence skywave (NVIS). The technique allows the treatment of any vehicle-antenna combination as one, computing a unique set of characteristic, orthogonal currents and associated fields that may be optimized
