Abstract :
With an ever increasing emphasis on improving communication systems, a significant amount of research has been put into digital speech coding and transmission systems. Lagging somewhat behind is a detailed approach to the analysis and removal of external acoustic interference from the pre-coded speech signal. The successful operation of telephone networks depends on the provision of coding economy with a required recovered speech signal quality, frequently under arduous input acoustic conditions. the paper evaluates the effectiveness of several acoustic noise cancellation techniques when applied in the telephone kiosk environment
