Abstract
We present airborne hyperspectral scanners (ARTS) images that document the period before and after the 2009 eruptions of Asama Volcano (Apr. 2007 to Mar. 2010). We detected geothermal activity inside the Asama Volcano crater and revealed a significant temporal change of geothermal activity in that crater before and after the 2 February 2009 eruption. This study describes the brightness temperature images, visible images, and thermal flux calculated from the brightness temperature images of Asama Volcano crater. We demonstrate how airborne hyperspectral scanners images can be used to detect geothermal activity.
