  • Abstract
    Presents a mathematical model for the transfer characteristic of an ADC exhibiting INL. Using this model, closed-form expressions can be obtained for the spectrum of the harmonic distortion resulting from the INL when a single sinusoid is quantised. Another application for this model is to obtain closed-form expressions for the harmonics of the ADC transfer-characteristic itself. These expressions can be used for characterising the ADC by determining the contribution to INL by each bit failure
