Abstract :
In this paper, acquisition performance with adaptive pre-filtering is analyzed for a noncoherent parallel matched-filter (MF) acquisition scheme with a reference filter (RF) in a multipath fading channel. Adaptive pre-filtering is employed to reduce the effect of severe multipath fading. From the numerical results, it is shown that adaptive pre-filtering and reference filtering improve acquisition performance in multipath fading environments. The parallel MF-RF scheme with adaptive pre-filtering can be applied to the reverse link of a CDMA system for packet-type services
