  • Abstract
    This paper presents the implementation of vector control drive of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) using resolver sensor. The resolver algorithm for calculating the rotor position and speed of PMSM is developed. In this technique, the calculated position is obtained by closed loop operation. The error between the calculated position and the actual one is forced to zero by the PI controller. Rotor position is then computed by integration of the output of PI controller. The calculated rotor position is finally compensated with a proper offset. A DSP based digital controller using the fixed-point TMS320F2812 is employed to verify the proposed resolver algorithm. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme is successful in the speed closed loop vector control drive of PMSM. The rotor positions can be accurately calculated even at zero speed
