Abstract :
Zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) isolated boost power converters are analyzed and investigated in this paper. Zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) and proper core reset can be achieved through the resonance that exists between the magnetizing inductance and the parasitic capacitance. A steady-state analysis is given to illustrate the principle of operation. The presented power converters were simulated and implemented to show that the experimental results are in good agreement with theoretical analyses. Comparisons in terms of the voltage and current stresses, soft switching range, complexity and efficiency are provided to show that a ZVS power converter using a small network in parallel with a transformer secondary winding has best performance
