Abstract
This paper suggests an information model of the fault variable rate. Based on the new model, the reliability of the ship´s power system can be estimated, and the maintenance cycle can be predicted. The calculating method and application of results are discussed in detail. From the model analysis and the case study, the conclusion is: it is a practical new way to estimate the reliability and to calculate the maintenance cycle by the fault variable rate model. The state information can be obtained in terms of single-sample function, and the supervision for the system is simple and effective. Arrangement of the maintenance time, in reference to the new method, the operation and management of the ship´s power system would be established on the basis of the scientific analysis. Because the fault variable rate model is especially suitable for the single-sample of the single-produced system, it can be used in the reliability analysis of other large-scale complicated systems-such as complicated control systems, etc
