  • Abstract
We investigate source-cooperated transmission in a wireless cluster network, which has wireless links between each pair of nodes. The aim is to minimize the total transmit SNR. Nodes are divided into two groups, namely sources and destinations. Each destination requires a certain amount of information which is available only at one of the sources. The source may transmit directly or via other sources to its destinations. If it chooses other sources as relays, we call this source-cooperated. We consider frequency-division multiplexing operations in which each source broadcasts over different frequency bands. Simulation results indicate that by using our algorithm to select cooperative nodes, the performance is almost as good as the selection result by total enumeration. Also, our transmission protocol is far much better than the non-cooperated case. Furthermore, our algorithm has a low complexity compared to the enumeration method and a high effectiveness in both smaller and larger networks.
