Abstract :
On the basis of the performed investigations of polymer scintillation systems, is developed a high-sensitivity detector of α- and β-radiation resistant to the action of severe: climatic and mechanical factors. The detector consists of a polymer scintillation plate rigidly joined with a conic light guide made of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA). Its distinctive features are the following: the scintillator is based on poly-2,4-dimethylstyrene (P-2,4-DMS). Which provides a high efficiency of the ionizing radiation registration; the method of a rigid junction of P-2,4-DMS and PMMA ensures a high optical homogeneity in the boundary layer; the light output of the detector is raised due to the increase of light collection, achieved by making a relief on the exterior surface of the scintillation plate
