Abstract :
This paper discusses the temperature monitoring systems installed at Oconee nuclear station unit 2 containment building, and the reactor building and doghouses at Catawba nuclear station, unit 1. Recorded data is used to determine the average ambient temperature and Arrhenius methodology is applied to determine the qualified life based on the parameters of EQ test reports. Additionally, cost savings are discussed, in terms of longer qualified lives, and application of monitoring to plant life extension
