Abstract :
The aim of this paper is to explore the relationships between perceived residential environment quality and perceived restoration and analyze which components of residential environments has restorative value for Ningbo city, China. Data were mainly drawn from a questionnaire survey to the residents of Ningbo focusing on their residential environment and perceived restoration. The author analyzed the validation of factorial structures through Confirmatory Factor Analysis technique and which components of residential environments have restorative value through structure equation model analysis. The conclusions of study present that architectural and urban planning spaces and Recreational services were important indicators to promote residents´ perceived residential environment quality in urban areas. Moreover, strengthening a spatial and functional planning can raise people´s emotional bonding to residential environment and furthermore, perceived their restorations. The results of this research can give direction to the development and improvement of residential environment for Chinese city planning, and furthermore can contribute to other city in China.
