Abstract
This paper presents an overview of a measurement-based dependability evaluation of digital safety systems and describes a software tool under development for it. The approach is based on measurements on operational systems and dependability models to provide quantitative assessments for system reliability and availability with stated confidence levels. A tool is being developed to automate the approach. Experience in use of the methodology are briefly discussed
