Abstract
This paper describes how integrated life cycle management (ILCM) can help companies achieve the dual goals of increased competitiveness and environmental stewardship. ILCM provides a flexible, decision-oriented approach for making business decisions in a way that supports a firm´s business and environmental goals. The specific implementations of ILCM will vary by their choice of life cycle boundary, metrics, and alternatives, as dictated by the firm´s goals. Two example applications are presented
