Abstract
Electronically commutated motors can radiate high electrical fields in the lower frequency range up to 10 MHz. The radiation stems from the motor itself and not from the connected wiring harness. Several hypotheses for this direct radiation were examined. An analysis by 3D electro-magnetic field simulations reveals the root cause. Based on the simulation results a simple network model could be generated, which allows further studies in a short computation time.
