Abstract :
Two types of electroabsorption (EA) modulators, a selected-band EA modulator and an ultra wide-band EA modulator, have been developed. The selected-band EA modulator, which has a matching circuit, is suitable for MM-wave band fiber-radio systems. The ultra wide-band EA modulator covers frequencies from DC to 50 GHz.
