Abstract :
In this paper we apply and assess the performance of different channel estimation algorithms to the new reference signal structure standardized for LTE Advanced in the 3GPP Release 10 standards. The different reference signals are presented and they are employed to obtain channel estimates for demodulation and feedback calculation. Furthermore, we point out the advantages and drawbacks of the LTE Advanced reference signals in comparison to the LTE reference symbol structure. Finally we provide simulation results to evaluate the capabilities of the designed channel estimators. All data is available online for reproducibility.
