Abstract :
This paper describes an Enhanced Bandwidth Reservation Algorithm (EBRA) which introduces a new metric of Allocated Counter (AC) for considering multiple reservations in the same media access slot (MAS) for distributed UWB (Ultra Wideband) network. By considering bother call success rate and QoS (quality-of-service) constrain of establishing route, EBRA allows multiple reservation requests for the same MAS and does not introduce more delay of setting up route. It improves call success rate when bandwidth is not enough for all requests. The performance of the algorithm is simulated and compared with other algorithms. The results show that the EBRA is able to increase call success rate significantly while maintain the QoS requirements.
