Abstract :
This tutorial introduces the novel concept of a fuzzy rule based network whose nodes are fuzzy rule bases and the connections between the nodes are the interactions between these rule bases. A fuzzy network is viewed as a fuzzy system with networked rule bases as opposed to fuzzy systems with single or multiple rule bases. A comparison between different types of fuzzy systems is presented as well as formal models for fuzzy networks such as Boolean matrices, binary relations, block schemes and topological expressions.
