  • Abstract
The article concerns problems of electromagnetic compatibility of portable computers. Its aim is to present a sample position application and methodology of measuring shielding effectiveness of a casing used for shielding of portable computers of laptop type in the frequency range from 10kHz to 1GHz. In the article the measuring methodology and a detailed description of the position for measuring shielding effectiveness of a laptop casing in the frequency range from 10kHz to 1GHz have been presented. The research aim is to obtain measuring data essential for estimating attenuation of portable computer casing and determining minimal shielding effectiveness for particular frequencies from the whole measuring range. The above position has been validated by measurements conducted in the Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory of Military University of Technology in Poland, which owns accreditation granted by the Polish Centre of Accreditation.
