Abstract :
The central issue of this paper is uncertainty in decision making of reverse logistics operations. Based on a literature review, we develop a conceptual model classify uncertainty in decision. Then, we use a structured, two-stage approach to develop a multi-item scale and explore the relationship among uncertainties. In the first stage, by drawing upon the literature as well as extensive interviews with expert practitioners, we find that the conceptual domain of uncertainty in manufacturerspsila reverse logistics decision making comprises five dimensions: (1) economic factors, (2) green awareness, (3) legislation, (4) technical skills, and (5) channel relationship. Items pertaining to each dimension are developed through an iterative process. In the second stage, we conduct a field study to assess scale reliability and validity, in addition, how uncertainty influences decision making. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the main factors that drive reverse logistics decision making within the Chinese electronics industry.
