Abstract
A TM01 wave is incident in a cylindrical waveguide in which only the TE11 and TM01 modes can propagate. This incident TM01 field is disturbed by a short at the end of the waveguide toward which the incident wave travels. Two identical apertures in the waveguide wall cause additional disturbances. Opposite each other, these apertures feed two identical rectangular waveguides. The lateral walls of the rectangular waveguides butt up against the edges of the apertures. The short edge of each aperture is parallel to the axis of the cylinder. Only the TE10 dominant mode can propagate in the rectangular waveguides. Each rectangular waveguide is terminated with an arbitrary load. The load that terminates one rectangular waveguide may be different from the load that terminates the other rectangular waveguide
