Abstract :
A method of maintaining the physical size of a short-ended microstrip antenna, while increasing its effective electrical size (i.e. reducing its resonant frequency) is proposed. The effective length of the radiating patch consisting of a short-ended microstrip antenna is increased as a result of a reduction in the number of the short pins. And the current distribution on a radiating patch of a microstrip antenna depends on the size and the location of slots cut into it. In this fashion, it is possible to increase the effective length of the radiating patch by adequately setting the size and the location of a few slots
