Abstract :
Potential applications for new solid-state exhaust sensors are examined, with particular reference to catalytic converters. The development of conventional tin dioxide based gas sensors is contrasted with that for sensing materials commonly encountered in exhaust sensing technology. Experimental investigations suggest both promotion of selectivity and monitoring of air/fuel ratio as promising lines of application
