  • Abstract
    The establishment of Poyang Lake Ecological Economic Zone is an important measure for national economy sustainable development. Manufacturing chain reengineering (MCR) can transform the traditional manufacturing industry, giving enterprises the ability of new competition, to avoid being shut down because of environmental issues. This paper describes concepts and methods of MCR, and using MCR to reengineer major manufacturing chain in Jingdezhen. A solution has been presented for integrating ceramics industry and power plant. Just a small investment can make an older and outdate enterprise get a powerful competitiveness, meanwhile, it will greatly reduce the environmental costs and social problems caused by unemployment because of enterprise shutdown. MCR process should follow the laws of science, not to achieve a business combination just by government order. Otherwise, MCR will not achieve the desired effect, and may result in serious consequences.
