Abstract
Study on agriculture Web sites has recently witnessed significant progress while still remains some open problems. Therefore there is an indisputable value in analyze and compare the evaluation & determinants of Chinese agribusiness firm Web sites in facilitating the development of agriculture electronic commerce and the success of information economy in general. This study provides a better understanding on the level and interrelated factors of Chinese agribusiness firm Web sites by evaluating the Web sites, measuring the whole level of the Web sites in seven provinces tested of China, designating and testing special factors that are usually thought as interrelated with Web sites. The study concludes that the development of Chinese agribusiness firm Web sites is not fully developed and balanced. For the single agribusiness firm Web sites, most agribusiness firms in China tend to pay more attention to use the Web sites as a promotion tool but pay less attention to conduct virtual trade directly. For the whole level of Web sites of each province, the level of economy development is the determinants, among which, per capita GDP is the most important indicator.
