Abstract
This paper proposes a unified model-D9-intersection model to represent topological relations between regions with holes. D9-intersection model can describe simple regional relations as accurately as 9-intersection model. When holes are allowed, D9-intersection model can distinguish relations that 9-intersection could not and then be more expressive than 9-intersection model. In addition, we present the reasoning method based on D9-intersection model restricting to regions with at most one hole.
