Abstract
Novel sheet, profile and fibrous nonwoven radioabsorbing materials (RAM) based on thermoplastic composites have been manufactured by the original techniques. The ability of the materials to absorb electromagnetic radiation of super high frequency has been estimated. Formulation, dimensional and structural characteristics of RAM have been optimized by the criterion of high radio absorption within 2÷27 GHz frequency range. RAM under study have low specific mass and can be processed into radioabsorbing screens by highly productive technological methods used for thermoplastics. Recommendations are given for application of RAM as elements of protecting clothes, structures for electromagnetic sealing of buildings, masking coatings and components of microwave systems.
