Abstract
The rapid grow of wireless communications, multimedia traffic and advanced services, despite the inevitable increase in digital rate, have often to cope with the already assigned channel arrangement suitable for Normal Density (ND) Low Capacity Digital Radio (LCDR). Moreover the transceiver equipment has to compare, in terms of reliability and market price, in a world-wide environment in which the competition becomes every day more aggressive. The solution, highlighted in the paper, refers to a new family of low capacity High Density (HD) radio transceiver based on a fully equipped Outdoor Unit (ODU), modem included, in which high spectrum efficiency is achieved by the use of 16 TCM modulation scheme.
