Abstract :
A power control scheme with outage probability specifications is derived and studied for interference-limited wireless cellular systems in Rician/Rician fading channels. We first define a performance index, so-called signal-to-interference power ratio margin (SIRM) for each desired communication link in Rician fading channels. We also explain and discuss the relationship between the outage probability of a desired link and its SIRM. A power control scheme is then proposed to balance the outage probabilities of all the desired links and we show that applying the well-known Perron-Frobenius theory can solve such a problem. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed power control scheme. As expected, our scheme is shown to cover a previous scheme for Rayleigh fading channels as a special case.
