Abstract :
This paper discusses the complexity of several orthogonal frequency division multiplexing wireless communication receiver algorithms for use with multiple-input multiple-output channels. We investigate spatial diversity and spatial multiplexing (SM) architectures. For the SM case we focus on the complexity of linear filter design based on zero-forcing and minimum-mean squared-error, and also maximum-likelihood detection. A comparison of the packet error rate performance of the various systems is then provided, followed by discussion of implementational complexity.
