Abstract
Industrial designers often create their products depending on their intuition. TRIZ is a problem solving method based on logic and data and has proved to be a very strong tool in helping to solve problems that requires inventive thinking. First, we analyzed two characteristics of design, form and function, which reflect the engineering and art knowledge. And we discussed the concepts of the innovative information characteristics. The 40 Inventive Principles (IPs) was combined with the innovative information characteristics analysis that includes six strategies for the design process to overcome the unpredictability in the design process. On this basic, the article proposed an object oriented method by the effective information decomposition to form a new starting point. A case study was presented to show how to apply the method in design process. The application can help the designers to use the principles conveniently in the concept design stage and enhance the quality of design.
