Abstract
In this paper, we will focus on the collaborative MIMO in combination with the LTE-advanced system. In this system, two or more users each using multiple antennas are transmitting their data within the same frequency/time grid. In this paper, we investigate the MIMO enhancements introduced to the LTE uplink of the LTE-advanced system. User equipment here is equipped by 2-4 antennas which can be used along the collaborative MIMO system to increase data rate, enhance system performance and match channel conditions according to the channel knowledge at transmitter. We propose a space frequency block codes (SFBC) precoding for the uplink to achieve space diversity in accompany with spatial multiplexing gain achieved before using the collaborative system. Then, we propose a combination between the collaborative system and the precoded MIMO whether ideally (SVD precoding) or suboptimally using codebook precoding. The results show dramatic enhancement in performance and achieves the peak spectral efficiency of the uplink mode of the LTE-advanced.
