Abstract
This paper presents a suboptimal power split control method for hybrid power systems. Optimality is evaluated by energy consumption. By using the concept of sliding mode control, the requested power is delivered to the load, the order of the boundary value problem results from minimum principle is reduced at the expense of suboptimal solution.
