Abstract :
Integration of electric power systems (EPSs) involves so called system effects. They are connected with decrease in the demand for generating capacities, more rational structure of capacities, mutual assistance of systems during contingencies, more stable frequency, reduction of operating costs and environmental impact as a result of rationalization of power system operating conditions. The paper presents a mix of criteria and technology for estimation of system effects for different groups of subjects of relationships in the power sector in a liberalized environment. Estimates of the system effects for different subjects of relationships in the power sector are considered on the example of the Unified electric power system of Russia
