Various risks exist during the service life of a bridge; rational risk assessment and risk minimizing are very significant to ensure the safety of the bridge structure. Upon analyzing the probability and grade standard of the bridge risk situations, this thesis analysis various risk elements that may occur during bridge designing, constructing, operating and maintaining and constructs a index system of bridge risk assessment as per the hierarchical relation; the weight of each index hierarchy has been gotten through the expert questionnaire; and it has set up a bridge risk assessment model based on the BP neutral network and trained this model so that it can be used in the practical bridge risk assessing.
