Abstract :
This paper describes the experimental results of an application of a fuzzy control algorithm to stabilization of electric power systems. A fuzzy control algorithm, which is designed to produce a supplementary stabilizing signal to a digital AVR (automatic voltage regulator) of a generator to increase the damping of system oscillations, has been implemented on a microprocessor, and tested on both one-machine and two-machine connected to infinite-bus systems installed in the authors´ laboratory. The dynamic behaviors of the fuzzy controller has been compared with the conventional power system stabilizer
