Abstract
Introduced some of the results of the application of flat dilatometer test (DMT) to evaluation in the loess foundation. Under the flat dilatometer test results, the soil type classification, weight density, constrained modulus, the bearing power of ground estimated, and compared with the results of laboratory test and other in situ tests, and analyzed the factors causing the differences between the results. The results showed flat dilatometer test to better reflect the soil continuity, there are some reference value for estimating the physical and mechanical properties. The results can offered reference value for application of flat dilatometer test in the loess region of China.
