Abstract :
Summary form only given. The sample (scattering Nd/sub 0.5/La/sub 0.5/Al/sub 3/(BO/sub 3/)/sub 4/ ceramic) was excited at 532 nm with a 10 ns laser pulses. The stimulated emission was characterized by a distinctive threshold. The threshold energy E/sub th/ was linearly proportional to the diameter of the pumped spot in a very broad range.
