Abstract :
The author has derived an analytical model for the response of an infinitesimal electric dipole located on the polar axis of an electrically lossy spherical shell. The dipole can be in contact with the shell. This model is valid for arbitrary shell thickness, conductivity, and diameter, although it is particularly appropriate when the shell is several wavelengths or less in circumference
