Abstract :
Multiple 90° couplers, 180°- and 0°- dividers together with balanced mixers are combined to create a new type of SSB upconverter. Such an upconverter has the following features: (1) wide dynamic range; (2) a high sideband suppression degree; (3) low VSWR at all ports; (4) low conversion loss; and (5) high carrier rejection. The paper describes the operation of the SSB upconverter developed for radio transmitting applications
