Research on Innovation Ability of Shanghai Biomedical Industry Cluster

This paper takes biomedical industry cluster as the research object, measures the concentration ration and location quotient of the industry clusters of 28 regions in China, then finds out the status of Shanghai biomedical industry cluster. By using the factor analysis, the paper establishes the evaluation index system of industry cluster innovation ability which consists of 4 factors: innovation output scale, investment scale & government support, foreign capital utilization level and market level. Based on the evaluation index system, the paper has got the innovation ability of Shanghai biomedical industry cluster as follow: The innovation output scale of Shanghai biomedical industry cluster is not so good, It is a great gap between Shanghai biomedical industry cluster and that of the other advanced regions in investment scale and & government support and market level, Shanghai biomedical industry cluster has the highest level of foreign capital attraction in all regions.
