Abstract :
This paper presents an optimum control of an induction generator based wind energy system where the torque control is optimized for maximum peak power tracking. The induction generator is connected to the grid with a double pwm converter. This digest shows a brief explanation of the optimization technique control along with simulation results obtained for squirrel cage type induction generators. The same approach is under development for doubly fed induction generators, used in high power applications. The final paper will include the simulation studies and experimental verification of both controllers, with an evaluation of performance and robustness for each system.
