Abstract :
Summary form only given. We show topographic and nearfield images of samples prepared from gold particles with an average radius R = 25 nm. By parking the near-field tip either directly above the selected particle or the nominally transparent substrate region, we acquired pairs of spectra that were used to calculate extinction spectra of individual particles.
