Abstract
Application of artificial neural networks (ANN) in power factor preregulators (PFP) control is investigated. Both continuous conduction mode (CCM) and discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) converters are analyzed. At present the system gives good results for DCM in both static and dynamic conditions. For CCM good results are being obtained for static conditions. Simulation results indicate that the approach is viable and represents an alternative novel technique in PFP control
