Abstract :
A pulsed-plasma-based reactor has been created for the Moscow region Kashira thermal power plant. The reactor is intended to increase the precipitation of fly ash, SO2 and NOx from flue gases. The principal parameters of the electrostatic precipitator and pulse power supply for streamer corona discharge are as follows: gas flow rate 300000 Nm3/h; gas velocity 2 m/s; average power 300 kW; and pulse repetition rate up to 2 kHz. The power supply has a module design with a single module power of about 25-50 kW, pulse voltage up to 120 kV, pulse energy of 30 J and pulse length of 500 ns. A pseudospark switch with a hold-off voltage up to 100 kV is used in the module. It is supposed that the switch should offer a possibility to transfer a total charge of about 107 C
