Abstract
Notice of Retraction
After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE´s Publication Principles.
We hereby retract the content of this paper. Reasonable effort should be made to remove all past references to this paper.
The presenting author of this paper has the option to appeal this decision by contacting TPII@ieee.org.
In this paper, by using satellite, radar and cloud-to-ground (CG) lightning location data, researches have been conducted on the relation of the CG lightning in the thunderstorm cloud (thundercloud) to the radar echo intensity and the characteristics of the cloud system shown in the satellite cloud charts, and analyses have also been made on the relations of the thundercloud patterns, the liquid-water content in the cloud to the lightning. Results show that the more obvious the plume shown in the cloud chart is, the more possible it is for the CG lightning to occur, the positive charge concentrates on the plume, easily causing the positive CG lightning. The distribution of the liquid-water content which influences the amount of electrification in the cloud has also been analyzed.
