Abstract :
This paper deals with a fuzzy logic controller applied to a brushless motor drive system. A new fuzzy model which gives the minimal number of fuzzy implications necessary in a controller design has been proposed. The fundamentals of the fuzzy logic controllers and the fuzzy inference are preliminarily illustrated. The aspects of major importance in the structure and design of a fuzzy proportional-integral controller (FPIC) are presented and discussed. A FPIC for the speed control of a brushless motor drive is then designed and simulated
