Abstract
This paper describes the realisation of a complete rotor flux oriented current and speed control system for a PWM-VSI fed asynchronous motor drive. The performance of the control system obtained on an experimental 11 kW test drive is presented. Rotor flux estimation and the control algorithms are implemented as tasks in a microcontroller. This constitutes a compact and flexible solution to the overall motor control problem. The dynamic responses for the drive are shown to be fast both for the current control loop as well as for the outer speed control loop
