Abstract :
By a total probability decomposition argument and the theory of renewal process, reliability analysis of the repair facility for an n-unit series system with an unreliable repair facility and finite vacations is discussed. The following reliability problems of the repair facility are studied: (a) The probability that the repair facility is during its generalized busy period, (b) The unavailability of the repair facility at time t, that is, the probability that the repair facility is being replaced at time t, (c) The mean replacement number of the repair facility during the time interval (0, t). It is important that some steady-state reliability indices and two reliability relations of the repair facility are obtained. Furthermore, Three special cases show that the vacation number affects the performance of the repair facility.
